We took a mountain vacation this week. We have enjoyed old favorite activities, like skiing (alpine and Nordic) and climbing snow piles. We have discovered new loves, like morning hot tub fun (when everyone else is on the slopes) and playing Timeline. We watched The King and I, borrowed from the library because we’d just read about King Mongkut of Siam. We shared dinners and books with my parents.
Pretty: the Gore Range.
Happy: just the two of us.
Funny: she was so excited about the powder she kept skiing off into the trees.
Real: The first time I took him cross-country skiing on this very path, he was a nine-month old in my backpack. The days are long, but the years are short.
