Post-move check-in

The movers were amazing: efficient, careful, and fun.  Renee kept the kids all day and made us dinner.  I won’t know for six months if anything broke, but if it did, it was the result of my packing, because the movers didn’t drop or bang anything.

We’ve slept at my parents’ house for two nights.  I am so grateful for the gift of their space.  They were out of town when we moved in, which was really an act of courage and trust on their part, but the kids are asking when Papa and Grandma will be home.  That is the real gift– that my children want to be with their grandparents.

So that’s all for today– we have a few things still to move out, a few friends we have to hug, and a bike helmet to find.

Happy Independence Day to you.
