Journal Entry, July 16

The house is sparkling (well, some of it is, at least) after my frenzy of housecleaning .

On my kitchen table… a bouquet from the garden.  Sunflowers, zinnias, and oregano.  Very fragrant.

In my teacup… chai with cream.  Mmm.

In my freezer… forty pounds of peaches I bought this week.  I wish I had asked before I bought them if they were cling or freestone.  When I got home, I realized they were cling.  So instead of canned, they’re peeled, sliced, and frozen in bags to use for smoothies this winter.

Piling up on the windowseat… the schoolbooks I’ve ordered.  Augustus Caesar’s World, The Fallacy Detective, Singapore math, Explode the Code, As Your Like It and Twelfth Night.  I can’t wait to get started.

In my mind… Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.  Hebrews 10:23

On my bedside table…
